Creating a Dashboard
Build custom dashboards to visualize and monitor your MongoDB data.
Quick Start
Click Dashboards in the sidebar
Click New Dashboard
Enter dashboard name and optional description
Click Create to start building
Dashboard Settings
Configure dashboard properties:
- Name - Dashboard title
- Description - Purpose and contents
- Visibility - Private or shared with team
- Auto-refresh - Update interval (off, 30s, 1m, 5m)
Adding Widgets
Click Add Widget button
Select widget type (KPI, Chart, Table, etc.)
Configure data source (choose connection, select collection, configure query)
Customize appearance and position
Click Save Widget
Widget Types
Available widget types:
- KPI - Single metric display (count, sum, average)
- Line Chart - Trends over time
- Bar Chart - Category comparisons
- Pie Chart - Proportional breakdowns
- Table - Tabular data display
- Number - Simple numeric value
- Text - Markdown text widget
Dashboard Layout
Arrange widgets with drag-and-drop:
- Drag widgets to reposition
- Resize by dragging corners
- Auto-layout snaps to grid
- Save layout changes
Group related widgets together for easier scanning. Put most important metrics at the top.
Dashboard Templates
Start from pre-built templates:
- MongoDB Health - Connection status, query performance
- User Analytics - User counts, activity trends
- Sales Metrics - Revenue, orders, conversion
- System Monitoring - Error rates, API performance
Sharing Dashboards
Share with team members:
- Click Share button
- Set visibility to Team
- Configure permissions (view only or edit)
- Copy share link
